Electrical Hardware Engineering Lead

The engineering team is looking for an Electrical Engineering Hardware Lead to help drive the technical development and electrical engineering of complex electro-mechanical solutions and manage projects to completion. These systems may include mechanisms, motion systems, high and low volume parts, optics, electronics, and sensing.

As Electrical Engineering Hardware Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of the custom electrical hardware for our client’s products.  The hardware may be developed with internal resources, outside electrical engineering consultancies, or ODM/JDMs.

You will conceptualize and architect systems, establish design requirements, develop and maintain relationships with consultancies, and evaluate the output of external partners. In some cases, you will be responsible for designing the hardware in-house.

​​​​​​As a project manager you will be responsible for managing the progress and deliverables required to meet the program objectives. You will lead a cross-functional team of designers and engineers, while communicating progress/status to the client. As a project manager you will also identify and track resources, budgets, materials, and schedules.

  • Project management skills (scoping, planning, scheduling, budgeting, managing clients)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects with cross-functional teams to completion across the product development lifecycle
  • Excellent writing and visual presentation skills
  • Subject matter expert on emerging technologies in the fields of vision, sensing, control, wearables, wireless/IoT, etc.

DNA of Electrical Hardware Engineering Lead includes:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience designing electrical hardware and/or embedded systems Mix of experience with analog, high-speed, and power.
  • Experience with wearables, IoT devices or medical devices is a huge plus.
  • System architecture development
  • Experience managing efforts of in-house hardware design resources and outside hardware design firms, ODMs, and JDMs
  • PCB schematic and layout design
  • Experience creating and managing complete release packages for designs (schematics, BOM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Comfortable presenting work to small and large groups (clients, co-workers, vendors)
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
  • 5-10% travel may be required
