HR Director/Business Partner

Northwest, USA
An award-winning, forward-thinking, privately held company in a mid-sized Northwest US city is searching for a Director of Human Resources who will position the company for scaling up by modernizing the HR function within the company.

The Director of Human Resources will utilize a mix of strategic leadership and operational expertise to transform the HR department from a cost-center to a force-multiplier. This is truly an opportunity to bring immediate value to a strong regional player that is poised to lead the market by winning the talent war.

Strategic Accountability
  • Develop a recruiting strategy to attract and retain the A-Player for any role,
  • Develop the recruiting brand online and in public to position the company as the employer of choice
  • Consult the executive staff on optimal benefit plan design, and identify opportunities to innovate in that space
  • Fully leverage technology platforms to remove the clutter and maximize HR process efficiency
  • Champion the culture, steward the culture, pursue constant improvement, efficiency and safety
  • Build a system for managing, prioritizing, automating and delegating HR inquiries
Support and Management Accountability
  • Develop content and lead classes to help managers and supervisors excel at the hiring process
  • Lead location based recruiting initiatives with managers through job fairs, schools and internships
  • Decentralize the cost-center aspects of HR by training and coaching supervisors to handle issues
  • Assist with key hires and interviews upon request
  • Manage benefits programs and relationships with TPAs
  • Manage a small team of HR staff with the intent of keeping it small and agile
  • Proven experience as a HR Director or Business Partner, or able to take on Director responsibilities immediately with no lag
  • Technical approach to HR, experience with Kronos a plus
  • Outstanding communicator to all levels of the organization, from blue collar workforce to top executives
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once, hitting timelines and maintaining critical path
  • Must be able maintain strategic pursuits AND execute daily goals at the same time
